ALL 2009 DRIVERS HAVE UNTIL DEC. 14TH TO PRE-ENTER AFTER THE 14TH ITS OPEN TO ALL.

Rules

FAIR WARNING: DONT PAINT YOUR FRAME OR INSIDE THE BODY.
1. All glass, plastic, interior, rear seats and decking in all wagons must be removed before entering.
2. Role cage surrounding the drivers compartment. Bars must be sheet metal to sheet metal. The back bar can not be no further back where the kick panel meets the bench seat and must be atleast 6" off the floor. Front bar must be atleast 5" from the center of the fire wall or dis.-protector. Side bars can be inside the doors or in the car all cage bars no bigger then 4"x 4" side bars can not go past the fire wall or past the center of the rear doors. No cage or components can be welded to the frame or body mounts.
3. Gas tank protector : No wider then 24" outside to outside only coming off the back seat bar. It may go against rear seat panel sheet metal in sedans and coil sprung cars only. No down legs must be floating. Dont bolt/weld it to the frame or sheet metal in any way.
4. You may add 4 vertical down bars welded from cage bars to the floor sheet metal only. These bars may not attach or conceal any body mounts or washers. (4"x 4" max welding on the floor boards). No oversized flanges or angled down bars.
5. No radiator protectors. Factory condensers only in front of the radiator bolted in. Front sway bar and all components must stay 100% stock with no re-work or will be taken off.
6. Halo bar must go straight across and be bolted in 3 places to the roof only. It must come off your rear cage bars.
7. No skid plates or transmission protectors but you can double up your trans and oil pans.
8. Deck lids & the speaker trays must be in the stock position. Trunk may be welded with 3" wide, 1/4" thick max strips. NO OVER LAPPING OR EXTENDING YOUR STRAPPING ONTO THE BODY OR DOWN INSIDE THE TRUNK. If you do put the back side of the trunk (12") down inside the trunk you can weld it down in 3, 4" spots to the trunk floor pan only. Trunk lids need a 12"x6" hole put in the center. THE 4 BODY MOUNTS IN THE TRUNK MAY HAVE 1"ALL-THREAD & 5" WASHERS DOUBLED NUTTED AT THE FLOOR AND THE DECK LID. ALL-THREAD MUST BE KEPT VERTICAL. (Chrysler subframes call first)
9. Tail gates in wagons may be welded vertical with 3" max wide straps on the outside of the tail gate only.
10. Wagons back 2 mounts may have all-thread ran up thru the back pillars & DOUBLED NUTTED. (5"washers)
11. DOORS & ABC POSTS MAY BE WELDED SOLID OUT SIDE ONLY 3" MAX STRAPPING NO OVER LAPPING OR RUNNING THE STRAPPING OF THE DOORS ON TO BODY.
12. Hoods may be bolted, wired, or chained shut. You may use 4 spots plus hinges or 6 spots minus hinges. Front 2 may start up in the frame mounts and ran up thru the core support & be used as hood bolts 1" all-thread max. The other bolts must only be thru the sheet metal & spaced out on fenders (5"max washers)
13. You must have a cut out over the carb. You can bolt the cut outs back together 10, 3/8" max bolts per hood.
14. You may have A window bar in the windshield area for driver protection only IT CAN NOT GO DOWN BEHIND THE PROTECTOR. IT MUST BE PUT IN ABOVE IT (? CALL)
15. You MUST use factory type motor mounts (rubber style) on the engine cradle. (After market motor mount bells/clam shells are ok ? call) Dis-protectors no wider then the intake and only mounted to the top and back of block with NOTHING coming off of it.
16. You may use a engine cradle and a front motor plate in place of the factory brackets and bells. They can not protect anything on the motor or will have to be cut up or taken off. NO MOTOR CHAINS IF USING ANY TYPE OF ENGINE CRADLE or reinforced bells/clam shells. (? CALL)
17. Transmission & oil coolers may be used but must be mounted onto sheet metal only & can not strengthen the car in any way.
18. Any type of rear-end. Lengthening or shortening the trailing arms O.K. (4) Trailing arms may be homemade but must function as a stock one.
(CARS MUST BOUNCE) The suspension must move. Stock trailing arms may be reinforced.
19. Rear-end protectors ok but must fit tight & not be used to strengthen/help the frame at all or will be taken off.(?-call).
20. Body bolts may be replaced with up to 1" bolts max & must start up in the stock position. All inside washers a max size of 5" they can not be welded to the frame or floor of the body. STORE BOUGHT SILVER WASHERS (3" MAX ROUND) CAN BE WELDED IN EACH FACTORY BODY MOUNT FRAME HOLE (DO NOT WELD OVER SIZED WASHERS ON THE FRAME HOLES OR YOU WILL CUT THEM DOWN)
21. 1"min. space between the body & frame(hockey puck-type set-up). Dont bolt body directly to frame.
22. You may add 4 body mounts in sedans in the TRADITIONAL WAY (? CALL NOTHING CRAZY). If you decide to bolt the coil springs in place through the rear frame & package tray, these bolts will count towards your 4. (Sub-frame Imperials only 2 mounts).
23. You may add 2 extra body mounts in a TRADITIONAL WAY in sub-frame Imperials & wagons. If your station wagon came with body bolts in the front humps, these are your 2 additional mounts & you will not be allowed to add more mounts.
24. Radiator must remain in stock position in front of the motor. No homemade type radiators or supplemental cooling.
25. Boat/marine/Dec-type fuel tank is allowed. No fuel cells with greater then 10 gallons of gas. Original gas tanks must be removed. No alcohol.
26. All cars must be able to stop at all time. If your brakes dont work you dont run.
27. Tires: Any car, truck, forklift, or tractor tire is permitted. No split rims or studded tires. Valve stem protectors OK.
28. ALL COIL SPRUNG CARS MAY ADD A 18"X6"X1/4" THICK MAX HUMP PLATE OVER THE REAR-END DEAD CENTER ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE FRAME. A MAX UNDER HANG OF 1 INCH OR WILL BE TRIMMED OFF (IF HUMP PLATE IS NOT DEAD CENTER YOU WILL NOT RUN.
29. YOU MAY WELD 18" OF INSIDE FACTORY BODY SEAMS ON THE LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE OF THE BODY. (TOTALING 36" MAX PER BODY) THESE WELDS MUST BE PAINTED A CONTRASTING COLOR SO WE CAN IDENTIFY YOUR WORK (DON'T ABUSE THIS RULE YOU WILL NOT RUN)
30. YOU MAY WELD THE TOP FRAME SEAMS FROM THE FEET (BOX) FOWARD ONLY
(no more than a 1/2" wide bead of weld) only one pass of weld.
31. Buick, Olds, Pontiac, & 71, 72 GM. may fill in the hole in the frame behind the radiator support. Must be a butt fit one pass weld only. (?call)
32. No plating, pinning, stuffing, heat treating, or foam filling of the frame. Do not paint or undercoat nothing do not hide your work.
33. THE ONLY BODY CREASING IS THE FACTORY BODY LINES. NO WEDGING OR CREASING WAGONS ROOFS OR POSTS UNTIL AFTER YOUR HEAT.
34. Frame rails can not be shortened or DIMPLED. You may notch the frame for minimal prebending. Do not re-weld the cuts.
35. You may chain or wire your axles to the frame humps. Do not weld the chain links together. Do not use strapping of any kind for this. Wire or chain only 3/8" chain max. Unibody cars may use 1 3/8" bolt per side of frame.
36. ANY CAR BUMPER ON ANY CAR. ANY FRONT BUMPER BRACKET ON THE FRONT OF ANY CAR AND SAME FOR THE BACK BRACKET. (?CALL)
37. You may weld the bumper seams, shocks tubs or side brackets to the frame on any car. You can not weld further than 5 inches behind the radiator support when mounting your front bumper brackets. Shock tubes inside of frames can only go up to the S part of the frame. If you choose not to use brackets, you may weld your bumper directly to the frame. Bumpers can not be welded to the body, only the frame. Bumpers may be flipped upside down.
38. You may add a 3"x 6" strap from the bumper to the frame to help keep the front bumper from falling off.
39. Sedans & wagons can run 2 pcs. of all-thread, 1" max from the back bumper through the back body panel only to help hold on the bumper (5" max on washers) WAGONS BOTTOM INSPECTION COVERS MUST BE REMOVED BEFORE INSPECTIONS.
40. Bumper height min. 16" from the frame in the back between the body mounts (Leafed wagons will measure off the bottom rear frame lip). Bumper height max 22" to bottom of bumper on front. (?CALL)
41. No coil to leaf springs set ups. Leaf springs must stay in the factory position.
42. You may change out your factory coil springs for bigger ones. 2 Battery max, battery box can't strengthen the car.
43. Suspension must stay original factory suspension. '80 or newer models can change out upper A-arms.
44. You can not remove the shocks and put pipe or all-thread in their place. Traditional Factory shocks only. NO SHORT SHOCKS, DUMMY SHOCKS BUT COIL OVER SHOCKS O.K. ALL SHOCKS MUST HAVE TRAVEL OR WILL BE TAKEN OFF.
45. No means other than tires & coil spring spacers may be used to raise the cars suspension. The front & back of the car must have working suspension. IF YOUR CAR DONT BOUNCE YOU DONT RUN.
46. YOU MAY SWAP HOLE FRAMES FORD/FORD & G.M./G.M. ON CHRYSLERS YOU MAY SWAP SUB-FRAMES BUT THERE ARE RESTRICTIONS FOR ALL MAKES (?CALL). **EXAMPLE** IF USING A IMP-SUB IT MUST BE PUT UNDER A PRE-72 OR OLDER TYPE SUB-FRAME CHRYSLER BODY AND BOLTED IN THE SAME WAY THE OLD ONE CAME OUT NO EXTRAS NO EXCEPTIONS UNLESS WRITTEN INTO THE RULES. (?CALL) NO FULL FRAME IMPERIALS/CHRYSLERS, CHECKER CABS, TRUCKS, LIMOS OR HEARSES
(CAR OLDER THEN 1963 NEEDS MY APPROVAL DON)
47. If you have your hump chained you must leave enough slack for the suspension to work
(no solid suspension).
48. You may reinforce your factory tie rods. Also you can use after market steering columns & slip-shafts.
49. 9 leaf spring max 5/16" max thickness, 2" wide max, 58" min. 60" max spring length the stagger is 3" long side (rear of axle) 2" short side. Stock type mounting bottom plate. 5 clamps per side 2 in front 3 behind axle,(clamp material 1/4" thick 2" wide, 2-bolts per clamp).
50. No welding on the springs, no flat springs, no upside down springs, no double mains, no leafs over mains, no duct taping springs prior to inspection. Officials decisions are final on spring packages.
51. You may have 7 bolts per wheel opening 3/8 max bolts, they may not be more than 7" away from lip.
52. NO DOUBLING OF ANY BODY PANLES. YOU MAY WELD ALL OF THE CORE SUPPORT SEAMS AND WELD IT TO THE FENDERS ON EACH SIDE OF THE TOP OF THE SUPPORT. 80'NEWER MODELS ONLY CAN RUN THE 4" ANGLES IN FRONT OF THERE RADIATOR.
53. ALL CARS & 80'NEWER WILL NOT BE ALOUD TO PULL THE CAR DOWN PAST THE STOCK POSITION AT THE CRUSH BOX OR HAVE THE KICKER FROM THE DASH TO THE DIST-PROTECTOR. ALL CARS MAY RUN A ROOF SIGN THRU THE SHEET METAL ONLY.
54. #9 WIRE USED AFTER HEATS ONLY. A LIMIT OF 4 - 3" WASHERS PER SIDE, ADDED PRE-INSPECTION. (WASHERS CAN NOT HELP THE BODY ? CALL)
55. FIXING BODY RUST: 3 SPOTS MAX PER CAR. (12"X12" IS ONE SPOT) IT MUST BE PUT BACK STOCK AND APPROVED BY A OFFICIAL BY PHONE AND WELL DOCUMENTED WITH PROOF (PICTURES) THE DAY OF THE SHOW. FINAL REPAIRS WILL BE DECIDED BY OFFICIALS THAT DAY (?CALL)
56. Clarification on rules or calls regarding car building will be made the day of the event due to the interpretation of the rules by you the car builder. Don't read anything into the rules, don't assume anything. We may reject any car for any reason. ARGUING WITH INSPECTORS/OFFICIALS WILL GET YOU ESCORTED OFF THE PREMISES. Any rules left out will be gone over the day of the event. I can not stress enough: If it doesn't say you can do it, don't do it, call 1st.
